Video games have changed a lot. In the past, many games were simple but exciting. Players jumped, ran, collected coins and finished levels. Mario became one of the most famous characters in video game history after Super Mario Bros. appeared in 1985. A few years later, Sonic arrived in 1991 and showed players a faster kind of platform game.
Consoles were very important in the past. Many children played on systems from Nintendo and Sega, and later more players used powerful home consoles and handheld machines. Games slowly became bigger, brighter and more cinematic.
Today, many games are not just games. Roblox has become a place where users can play, build and share millions of experiences. Fortnite has also changed from one main game into a large online space with different modes, creative islands, music events and racing experiences.
In the future, games may become even more creative. Players may use virtual reality, artificial intelligence and new controllers. Maybe students will design their own worlds, stories and characters more easily than ever.
Afterwards, PlayStation represented one of the biggest revolutions in video games. The first PlayStation launched in Japan in 1994 and later reached North America and Europe in 1995. It helped make 3D games, CD games and home gaming feel modern, cool and exciting for a new generation.
