How to edit your essays for B1

When you finish a writing task, you must check:

  • Verb tenses. They have to be consistent. If you are using the past, use the past throughout the entire text.
  • Spelling. Check for misspelt words.
  • Connectors. Check that ideas are well connected in a logical way.
  • Structure. Check your paragraphing. There is one very simple rule: ONE IDEA = ONE PARAGRAPH
  • Activity instructions. Check you have answered ALL the REQUESTED tasks in the instructions!

B1 Story

One day last week I was sitting in a café in the market square. Then I bought some cheetos in a kiosk, when suddenly someone wearing a black mask stole them.

I started running as fast as possible but I thought that there were only cheetos and they only cost me €1, so I didn’t care about it. But then, the person who stole them gave them to a homeless person with no food or drinks.

Finally, I told the man who stole from me that it was ok and I gave him €5.
