2) Text: Stacey’s “Not Yet!” List

My name is Stacey, and I like trying new things. But there are many things I can’t do yet! I can’t skateboard, and I can’t juggle three balls. I don’t play the guitar, and I don’t speak French. I am not very tall, but I am cheerful. I haven’t got a dog, but I have got a funny goldfish.

Last year was different too. I wasn’t in Class 6. I was in Class 5. I couldn’t swim very well, and I didn’t play basketball after school. I didn’t have a mobile phone, and I wasn’t brave on stage. But now I practise a lot. Maybe next year I can do all these things!

On Saturday, Stacey visits her grandma, Grandma Dot. She is funny, loud, and a little eccentric. She wears bright yellow boots and a big purple hat with tiny toy birds on it.

Grandma Dot smiles and asks lots of questions.

Are you hungry, Stacey?”
“Yes, I am. I want a sandwich,” says Stacey.

Have you got your homework?”
“Yes, I have. It’s in my bag,” says Stacey.

Do you like my hat?”
“Yes, I do! It’s funny and beautiful,” says Stacey.

Can you help me with this old radio?”
“Yes, I can. I can press the buttons,” says Stacey.

Then Grandma Dot looks in a photo album.

Were you at the school concert last year?”
“Yes, I was,” says Stacey.

Did you play the piano?”
“No, I didn’t. I played the recorder,” says Stacey.

Could you sing in front of everyone?”
“Yes, I could. I was a little scared, but I could do it,” says Stacey.

Did you have your blue dress then?”
“No, I didn’t. I had my green skirt,” says Stacey.
