Paragraph 1
Ana, Sara, and Tom live in a small town high in the mountains. If they play with their friends in the town square, they will have fun. But today they dream about the sea. Yesterday they didn’t go anywhere exciting, so they imagine new plans.

Second Conditional (imaginary/unreal now):

  • If the water was warm, we would try snorkelling.

Negatives with didn’t (past simple → main verb in base form):

  • They didn’t go anywhere exciting.
  • If we didn’t forget the sunscreen, we would stay all day.
    (notice: didn’t + go/forget → base form, not went/forgot)

Would + base form (and negative wouldn’t):

  • We would build a huge sandcastle.
