I sit in class all day. I listen to the lessons and I nod politely. I don’t speak, and I don’t blink—wooden eyes don’t blink! I smile at everyone, and I don’t interrupt the teacher.

I sit on the blue shelf every day. Today I’m not quiet. I’m looking at Paco’s box and I’m hearing a soft click. The air shakes like jelly. Blocks appear. The floor turns into little squares.

Adverbs of frequency: never, sometimes, usually, always

  • Before the main verb: I usually play.
  • After be: I am always early.

  • Usually at the end (or at the start): I play football twice a week. / Every Wednesday, I play.
