Comparatives and Superlatives

1. Explanation

Comparatives are used to compare two things or people.
Superlatives are used to show the most or least of something among three or more.

Rules:

  • Short adjectives (1 syllable): Add -er (comparative) / -est (superlative)
    funny → funnier / the funniest
  • Long adjectives (2+ syllables): Use more / the most
    exciting → more exciting / the most exciting
  • Irregular adjectives:
    • good → better / the best
    • bad → worse / the worst
